Br. Avalos et al., PREPARATION FOR MARROW TRANSPLANTATION IN HODGKINS AND NON-HODGKINS-LYMPHOMA USING BU CY/, Bone marrow transplantation, 12(2), 1993, pp. 133-138
The results of autologous and allogeneic BMT in 44 patients with Hodgk
in's or non-Hodgkin's lymphomas who received preparative therapy consi
sting of busulfan 16 mg/kg and cyclophosphamide 120 mg/kg are presente
d. Sixteen patients are surviving free of disease between 8 months and
6 years after transplantation. Thirteen patients either did not attai
n complete remission or experienced a recurrence of their disease. Fif
teen patients died from treatment-related complications. Karnofsky sco
re less-than-or-equal-to 70, lactate dehydrogenase greater than twice
normal and the development of hepatic veno-occusive disease were assoc
iated with failure to achieve lymphoma-free survival.
