The measurements of vertical plasma drifts at magnetic equator using H
F Doppler radar include contributions due to production and loss of el
ectrons and also due to the equatorial electric field. From the comput
ation of the electron density profiles, the temporal variation of elec
tron density changes has been studied and the contribution of producti
on and loss of electrons to the vertical plasma drift measurements usi
ng HF Dopper radar during daytime has been evaluated. The evaluation o
f vertical drifts has been made for different conditions of the ionosp
here and for different zenith angles.
