Abstract
The surface polysaccharides of a strain of Serratia plymuthica were ch aracterised and shown to consist of a linear, acidic galactoglucomanna n as well as a major and a minor neutral galactan. Immunoblotting resu lts demonstrated cross-reactions between this strain and others with s imilar galactans (S. marcescens O16 and O20, Klebsiella O1, and Pasteu rella haemolytica T4 and T10).
