P. Pelet et N. Engheta, MUTUAL COUPLING IN FINITE-LENGTH THIN WIRE CHIROSTRIP ANTENNAS, Microwave and optical technology letters, 6(12), 1993, pp. 671-675
Here, we theoretically analyze the mutual coupling between two finite-
length thin wire chirostrip antennas. These antennas are defined as th
in wires printed on grounded substrate made of chiral materials which
exhibit electromagnetic handedness. Chiral materials are circular pola
rization (CP) birefringent and are described by the constitutive relat
ions D = epsilon(c)E + ixi(c)B and H = ixi(c) + B/mu(c) with epsilon(c
), mu(c), and xi(c) as material parameters. Mutual coupling for broads
ide, collinear, and echelon configurations for these antennas is inves
tigated, and it is shown that introducing chirality in the substrate c
an, under certain circumstances, modify the mutual coupling between th
e chirostrip antennas. (C) 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
