Abstract
Successful consultation between nurse administrators and management co nsultants requires developing a good working relationship and effectiv ely managing the consultation process. The authors describe a four-pha se consultation process from the perspective of both the manager and t he consultant, identifying the critical steps and behaviors at each ph ase that promote a successful consultation.
