Nv. Zyk et al., SYNTHESIS OF DI(2-BROMOALKYL) DISULFIDES BY ELECTROPHILIC ADDITION OFDITHIOBISAMINES TO OLEFINS, Russian chemical bulletin, 45(10), 1996, pp. 2393-2396
A new method for the synthesis of di(2-haloalkyl) disulfides and beta,
beta'-dibromothiacyclanes was proposed based on reactions of dithiobis
amines with olefins in the presence of PBr3, PBr5, or POBr3. Reactions
with alkenes lead to di(2-bromoalkyl) disulfides. Analogous products
and heterocyclic dibromosulfides, i.e., the products of addition of on
e dithiobisamine molecule to both double bonds of a diene, are obtaine
d in reactions with alkadienes.
