Abstract
A theoretic calculation of the systematic uncertainty of the heat of h ydration of cement using the Langavant calorimeter is made. The signif icant causes of error obtained when following the methodology describe d by the French Standard NF P 1 5-436-88 and the Spanish Standard UNE 80-118-86 are analyzed. Simple modifications to the said Standards are suggested which would lead to a 70% reduction in the systematic uncer tainty of the measurement.
