Ne. Korolev et al., SCINTILLATION PROPERTIES OF STRONTIUM-DOPED CERIUM FLUORIDE, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 333(2-3), 1993, pp. 425-428
The scintillation characteristics of undoped CeF3, low-doped CeF3 (0.7
mol% of Sr), and mixed Ce0.9Sr0.1F2.9 crystals with tisonite structur
e such as the absorption and luminescence spectra, decay constant and
light yield are determined. The Sr-doped CeF3 Crystals are shown to ha
ve high radiation hardness. Besides, it is easier to grow the high-qua
lity CeF3-SrF2 rather than CeF3, because strontium supresses undesirab
le impurities.
