Evaluating the biological technical development the economic values of
the production and reproduction traits for the farms were calculated.
The economic values were calculated with farm models differentiating
between marginal proceeds and marginal cost. The results were as follo
ws: Economic values are nonlinear and decline as the level of producti
on increases are governed by feed prices for daily gain, feed conversi
on and feed intake for lean meat percentage depend on the premiums and
the upper limits of the paying systems for meat quality depends on th
e specific population distribution of the trait and the paying system.
