Abstract
Notice is given of the presence of a previously un-reported oediceroti d amphipod species, Pontocrates arcticus Sars, in the shallow sublitto ral zone of the sandy beach at Kames Bay, Millport (Scotland). Disting uishing features from P. arenarius are the parallel-sided second coxal plates, strongly deflexed narrow rostrum and lack of sternal dark pig mentation patterns in both sexes. A key to the three species in the ge nus is provided.
