Abstract
Agar dilution susceptibility testing of temafloxacin, cefotetan, clind amycin, and ciprofloxacin was performed in 103 genital tract isolates of Bacteroides. The respective minimum inhibitory concentration inhibi ting 90% of the strains tested were temafloxacin, 1 mug/ml; cefotetan, 256 mug/ml; clindamycin, 8 mug/ml; and ciprofloxacin, 16 mug/ml Temaf loxacin is effective against genital tract isolates of Bacteroides; th erefore, clinical evaluation of temafloxacin in pelvic infections is w arranted.
