Abstract
Almost complete 16S rRNA gene primary structures of Pelobacter acetyle nicus strain WoAcyl (DSM 2348) and Pelobacter propionicus strain OttBd 1 (DSM2379) were determined by direct sequencing of in vitro amplified DNA. Both species are members of the delta-subclass of Proteobacteria . Pelobacter acetylenicus is phylogenetically closer related to Peloba cter acidigallici, Pelobacter carbinolicus, Pelobacter venetianus and to Desulfuromonas species than to Pelobacter propionicus.
