M. Rokmy et al., INFLUENCE OF POLLUTION AND BUILDING-MATERIALS ON DOMESTIC RADIOACTIVITY IN MARRAKECHI DWELLINGS, Journal of radioanalytical and nuclear chemistry, 190(1), 1995, pp. 51-57
Domestic radioactivity has been studied by using LR-115 and CR-39 soli
d state nuclear track detectors (SNTD) and a suitable beta- and gamma-
gaseous counter. A new calibration method, based on measuring thoron (
Rn-220) to radon (Rn-222) ratios, has been developed for determining t
he alpha-activity originating from radon in different Marrakechi dwell
ings. The influence of building materials as well as pollution and air
ing factors, on domestic radioactivity has been investigated.
