Abstract
A new species of the genus Onthophagus is described from the states of Morelos and Michoacan, Mexico. Specimens were collected associated wi th several basidiomycete macrofruiting bodies: Amanita, Boletus, Lacta rius, Tricholoma and especially Russula, and also in carrion traps and dog dung. Notes are provided on its habits, relationships with congen eric species, and distribution.
