Abstract
An analytical approach for locating the absorption edges based on Four ier transformation of EXAFS data is presented.The chemical shifts of t he absorption edges between RE metals and their oxides calculated usin g this approach give more accurate results as it eliminates the uncert ainty in the location of absorption edges.
