DICHROISM IN X-RAY-FLUORESCENCE

We discuss circular dichroism in the x-ray fluorescence spectra of mag netic systems in the light of a recent theory1). Fully relativistic lo cal spin density functional calculations on the L2,3 edges Of ferromag netiC iron are compared with very recent experimental data, and the re lationship between the dichroism spectra and the spin-resolved local d ensity of occupied states is discussed.
