The catalytic activity and selectivity for the aromatization of n-hexa
ne of platinum supported on potassium L zeolite treated with CF3Cl (Pt
/FKL) was higher than that of without CF3Cl (Pt/KL). XAFS spectra of P
t/FKL and Pt/KL catalysts, which were reduced in an in-situ cell, were
collected at the L2 and the L3 edge of Pt. XANES spectra of Pt/KL cat
alyst showed stronger L white lines than those of Pt/FKL catalyst. The
platinum clusters on FKL are more electron rich compared with those o
n KL. EXAFS results show that platinum atoms on KL has more interactio
n with oxygen of zeolite support than that on FKL. CF3Cl treatment of
zeolite suppress the interaction between platinum atoms and zeolite su
pport.
