Abstract
We present here an EXAFS study of the interaction of rhodium supported on palygorskite. The precursors and catalysts have been studied toget her with analogously prepared silica supported catalysts. This study s uggest the formation of a covalent bond between rhodium atoms and the clay from the initial ionic interaction between the cationic rhodium c omplex and the structure of the clay.
