Abstract
Direct evidences that Cu atoms are directly associated with nano-cryst alline formation in Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 (FINEMET) were obtained by fl uorescence XAFS measurements. The XAFS results at the Cu K-edge have s hown that the local structure around Cu atoms in FINEMET changes from amorphous to fcc Cu prior to the bcc-FeSi precipitation.
