Abstract
The review is given on previous and recent developments in the solutio n photochemistry of M(CN)84-, M(CN)83-, ion pairs of M(CN)84- with cou nter cations and of mixed-ligand cyano-polypyridyl complexes of the ty pe W(CN)6(NN)2-, (NN= 2,2'-bipyridyl and 1,10- phenanthroline). Unansw ered questions that can serve as the basis for the future research are raised.
