Abstract
We propose a formulation of the Feynman chessboard model, which explic
itly allows for spatial inhomogeneity. We use this formulation to solv
e the model for a particle confined to a periodic box. The resulting p
ropagator is the Dirac propagator expressed as a Fourier series.
