Abstract
This paper describes the COMPROMIS code developed by Electricite de Fr ance (EDF) to optimize the tube bundle maintenance of steam generators (SG). The model, based on probabilistic fracture mechanics, makes it possible to quantify the influence of in-service inspections and maint enance work on the risk of an SG tube rupture, taking all significant parameters into account as random variables (initial defect size distr ibution, reliability of nondestructive detection and sizing, crack ini tiation and propagation, critical sizes, leak before risk of break, et c.).
