Abstract
NTTPC Communications Inc. (NTTPC), a subsidiary of NTT, was establishe d in 1985 to provide electronic mail (e-mail), electronic bulletin boa rd, and database services with a system named NTTPC Network (Fig. 1). Using these basic services, NTTPC has established a reputation in the building of private communication systems for corporations on NTTPC Ne twork. As of March 1993, NTTPC Network has grown to accommodate approx imately 35,000 users. The system had been mainly used for domestic com munication among terminals and between terminals and host computers. S ince last year, it has additionally begun providing international e-ma il services and domestic corporate e-mail interconnection services. NT TPC Network relays e-mail messages between e-mail systems. This report describes interconnection testing, a very important process to provid e interconnection service with other carriers from the viewpoint of ne twork management and reliability.
