Hu. Khan et al., INFLUENCE OF UREA ADDUCTABLES ON THE POUR POINT OF BOMBAY HIGH CRUDE, Erdol und Kohle, Erdgas, Petrochemie vereinigt mit Brennstoff-Chemie, 46(7-8), 1993, pp. 286-287
The pour point of the highly waxy Bombay High crude oil (wax content 1
1-14%) lies at 30-degrees-C. These waxes largely consist of n-alkanes.
These n-alkane components have been separated from the crude oil by t
reating with different amounts of urea under varying conditions. The e
ffect on the pour point of the crude oil has been determined. Accordin
g to the observations made, the concentration of n-alkanes in the crud
e oil influence the pour point, whereas the carbon number distribution
has not much of significance.
