Abstract
Many different sutures have been advocated for use in closing the corn eoscleral incision during cataract surgery. We surveyed 354 North Amer ican pediatric ophthalmologists to find out the type of suture they us e for pediatric cataract surgery and any associated complications. Of the sutures indicated in the 244 (69%) surveys returned, 10-0 nylon su tures were the most popular choice despite a relatively large number o f related complications and the occasional need for general anesthesia to remove them.
