Adsorption properties of microporous activated carbon obtained from po
lyfurfuryl alcohol have been investigated by microcalorimetry. Differe
ntial and molar heats, entropies and heat capacities of adsorbed CCl4
at 308, 328 and 348 K are reported. Suggestions are made about molecul
ar motions of the adsorbed phase and the porous structure of carbon.
