R. Bartels et Ap. Rothmayer, AN EFFICIENT INTERACTING BOUNDARY-LAYER METHOD FOR SUPERSONIC-FLOW INTHE TRANSONIC REGIME, Computers & fluids, 23(1), 1994, pp. 55-62
A quasi-simultaneous interacting boundary layer (IBL) method with alte
rnating direction explicit acceleration is extended to include the non
linear weak-shock branch of a nonlinear transonic viscous-inviscid int
eraction. This IBL scheme is valid for an inviscid flow which is super
sonic everywhere as the free-stream Mach number (M(infinity)) approach
es one. Solutions computed by this method are compared with transonic
triple-deck solutions for expansion ramps as M(infinity) --> 1. The co
nvergence rate of the method is found to be comparable to an identical
ly accelerated scheme with a linear supersonic interaction law. Soluti
ons for a parabolic hump on a flat plate are also given which show the
development of a growing region of separation behind the hump as M(in
finity) --> 1.
