Abstract
Two cases with a black pigmented patch on the heel are reported. Biops y specimens showed that atypical melanocytic hyperplasia was confined to the epidermis despite the lesion being present for a long time. The diagnosis of atypical melanocytic hyperplasia should be considered in the differential diagnosis of the black heel.
