Fj. Vazquezdoval et al., MALIGNANT ATROPHIC PAPULOSIS - A REPORT OF 2 CASES WITH ALTERED FIBRINOLYSIS AND PLATELET-FUNCTION, Clinical and experimental dermatology, 18(5), 1993, pp. 441-444
Malignant atrophic papulosis is a systemic vaso-occlusive disorder cha
racterized by typical skin lesions. We report two new cases with impai
rment of blood fibrinolytic activity and alterations in platelet funct
ion. The first case showed an increase in plasminogen activator inhibi
tor-1 (PAI-1) activity, and the second case had a decrease in platelet
aggregation induced by adenosine diphosphate and adrenaline but norma
l with collagen. The impairment of blood fibrinolytic activity and pla
telet aggregation may have pathogenic and therapeutic implications in
malignant atrophic papulosis.
