Abstract
The complexity of modern microprocessors is such that design faults ca nnot be avoided. Such design faults can have serious consequences in c ritical applications. This paper proposes that information should be a vailable from suppliers so that users can assess the suitability of a particular device and take remedial action, should a fault be discover ed.
