Abstract
Electron entrainment (electron-drag) effect by ballistic phonons injec ted in a point contact between metal and insulator is investigated. Th e thermoe.m.f. in a system comprizing metallic needle, thin conducting film and dielectric anvil is calculated. The system is shown to permi t spectroscopic investigation of phonon transmission through a point c ontact.
