Abstract
The present study was undertaken to compare isolates of T. microsporus (Berk. et Broome) Kimbrough from the Antarctic continent and various parts of the world in order to redefine the species according to morph ological, cultural and physiological characteristics. Type specimen, A ntarctic strains and exsiccata were examined and the species descripti on is amended. The taxonomic position of the genus is presented.
