Abstract
The synthesis of beta-alkyloxy substituted tetraphenylporphyrins is de scribed. Due to interaction between the beta-alkyloxy substituent and the meso-phenyl moiety the porphyrins are slightly non planar. The dev iation from planarity in these compounds is investigated by cyclic vol tammetry.
