Abstract
The results of a study of weld zones in hot-plate welded polyethylene using low frequency Raman spectroscopy are reported. It is shown that low frequency Raman spectroscopy can be used to obtain information abo ut the structure of welds. The results are discussed in terms of the t hermal history of the weld.
