Abstract
We present a case of neuroleptic induced akathisia resistant to tradit ional drug therapy which improved with electroconvulsive therapy. If c onfirmed in further cases, these findings call for well designed studi es on the efficacy of this treatment, especially in nonresponders to t raditional therapy or in a subgroup of patients suffering from akathis ia and depression.
