Vi. Haltrin et Gw. Kattawar, SELF-CONSISTENT SOLUTIONS TO THE EQUATION OF TRANSFER WITH ELASTIC AND INELASTIC-SCATTERING IN OCEANIC OPTICS .1. MODEL, Applied optics, 32(27), 1993, pp. 5356-5367
A new self-consistent two-stream method has been developed that allows
for both elastic and inelastic processes including fluorescence. What
makes this method very useful is that it contains adjustable paramete
rs that can be selected to fit experimental data. It also has the robu
stness to cover a complete range of inherent oceanic parameters rangin
g from the very clear to the most turbid. The method also uses real so
lar spectral input so that one can also perform chromaticity coordinat
e calculations for ocean color. Apparent optical properties such as ir
radiance and scalar irradiance can be computed at any depth in the oce
an.
