We discuss the dynamics of dilute and semidilute solutions of semirigi
d chains. The results can be applied to analyze recent light scatterin
g experiments from solutions of actin filaments where an anomalous sca
ling of the dynamic structure factor was found. This anomalous scaling
is explained as being due to anisotropic scaling of characteristic le
ngth scales parallel and perpendicular to a filament and leads to char
acteristic frequencies in the system scaling as q8/3 log(q).
