Bm. Voronin et al., PREPARATION AND ELECTRICAL CONDUCTANCE OF IRON AND NICKEL PHOSPHOROTRISULFIDES, Journal of applied chemistry of the USSR, 65(8), 1992, pp. 1548-1550
Conditions are given, which permit a significant reduction in the time
required for the synthesis of iron and nickel phosphorotrisulfides in
ampules. The electrical conductance of pressed polycrystalline sample
s of these compounds was studied at 25-400-degrees-C. Nickel phosphoro
trisulfide is an intrinsic semiconductor, while FePS3 is an extrinsic
semiconductor. The finding of a region of extrinsic conductance for Fe
PS3 is related to its characteristic slight deviation from stoichiomet
ric composition.
