Abstract
The compatibility of nylon 6 with poly(vinyl acetate)(PVAc) and poly(v inyl alcohol)(PVA) was investigated in terms of the melting-temperatur e depression. In order to vary the compatibility systematically, a hyd roxylated poly(vinyl acetate)(m-PVAc) was prepared by hydrolyzing PVAc with KOH in CH3OH. It was found that the compatibility with nylon 6 i s better in the systematic order PVA > m-PVAc > PVAc.
