Abstract
The Ne-22(L-6, d) alpha-transfer reaction has been used to search for alpha-unbound levels in Mg-26 of importance for resonant alpha-capture on Ne-22 in stellar helium burning. To determine the resonance streng ths of the observed states the Ne-22(alpha, n)Mg-25 reaction was inves tigated in the energy range between 600 and 900 keV. One resonance was identified and its strength determined. The astrophysical implication s of the present results are discussed.
