Optical transmission measurements on a-Se1-xBix films were performed i
n spectral range from 550 to 2500 nm. A drastic decrease of the TAUC-
gap, E04- gap and of the slopes of the TAUC- plots B1/2 was obtained a
bove a Bismuth concentration of 0.2 at%, i.e. the Bismuth incorporatio
n caused a decrease of the optical gap and a flattening of the tail st
ates. It is assumed that strong distortions within the chain like stru
cture of a-Se films appear with increased bonding between Se and Bi.
