Abstract
A comparative study of laser-produced nanocomposite ternary Si-C-N pow ders, obtained from different SiH4, amines and NH3 mixtures, is presen ted. It is shown that the final composition of powders is correlated w ith and may be controlled by the experimental parameters. Preliminary results on laser irradiation of SiH4, NH3 and (CH3)3Al mixtures demons trate the possibility of producing nanosized powders composed of a mat rix of Si3N4 with a different content of Al.
