G. Kumar et al., FACTOR STRUCTURE OF THE BECK ANXIETY INVENTORY WITH ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRIC-INPATIENTS, Anxiety, stress, and coping, 6(2), 1993, pp. 125-131
To investigate the dimensions of self-reported anxiety in adolescents,
the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) was administered to 108 inpatients b
etween 12 and 17 years old who were diagnosed with mixed psychiatric d
isorders. An iterated principal-factor analysis was performed, and two
factors were found representing subjective and somatic symptoms of anx
iety. The compositions of these dimensions were comparable to those pr
eviously described for adult outpatients diagnosed with mixed psychiat
ric disorders.
