Reflection coefficients R(N) of deuterium ions from W are measured at
lo w ion energies (E0 approximately 10-400 eV per deuteron) and at bot
h normal and glancing angles theta0 of ion incidence. At glancing thet
a0 the reflection coefficient is close to unity in the range of 10-100
eV, but a small R(N) reduction with a decrease in energy is observed
at E0 < 30 e V per deuteron. The latter is thought to be related to th
e chemical interaction of deuterons with the surface.
