Abstract
We have developed a 510(H) x 492(V) pixel IT (Interline Transfer)-CCD with 3.65 mm(H) x 2.73 mm(V) image area, corresponding to a 1/4-inch o ptical format. The basic characteristics of the new CCD are better tha n or equal to those of the conventional 1/3-inch 250k CCD. Simplifying the driving circuit (54% of components, of the conventional CCD) and shrinking the package (70% of the size of the conventional CCD) makes possible the down-sizing of a camera system.
