Abstract
Based on investigation of the colloid-chemical and transport propertie s of emulsion extraction membranes, we propose a new variant of liquid -membrane extraction involving use of spherical membranes of the vesic le type. In extraction systems based on them, all other conditions bei ng equal, 10 times less surfactant, extractant, and organic solvent is required compared with the emulsion variant. We show that the minimal membrane thickness is determined by the thickness of the bilayer crea ted by molecules of the surfactant stabilizer.
