Yi. Tarasevich et al., ABSORPTION CALORIMETRIC STUDY OF THE STATES OF WATER AND HYDROCARBONSIN ZSM-5 ZEOLITE MICROPORES, Colloid journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 55(1), 1993, pp. 107-114
A calorimetric study has been conducted on the interaction of molecule
s of water, benzene, and hexane with two samples of an H-form ZSM-5 hy
drophobic zeolite. An estimate has been made of the number of H+-cente
rs (isomorphous Al3+ cations in the structure) and vicinal OH-groups i
n the zeolite micropores. A conclusion has been drawn about the partia
l filling of the sinusoidal channels of the ZSM-5 zeolite by adsorbed
benzene molecules. It has been shown that the state of the molecules o
f these substances in the micropores can be described by a localized a
dsorption model. The contribution of rotational and vibrational degree
s to the entropy of adsorbed benzene and hexane has been determined.
