Abstract
The electron spin-lattice relaxation time T1 in a high-T(c) supercondu ctor has been measured directly by a method of modulated ESR saturatio n in which the longitudinal magnetization is detected. The temperature dependence of T1 for paramagnetic Cu2+ centers has been found for a Y Ba2Cu3O7-delta sample. The relaxation accelerates just below T(c), pos sibly because of the opening of the superconducting gap.
