Abstract
A direct optical method for the quick evaluation of both quantum and c athodoluminescent efficiencies of inorganic powder phosphors using a s ilicon photodiode as the detector is presented. The design of the equi pment and other experimental details for the measurement of quantum an d cathodoluminescent efficiencies are described. Results of the measur ements on several phosphors of known efficiencies are compared with th ose synthesised in our own laboratory.
