Ab. Britan et al., CHARACTERISTICS OF FLOW OF WATER-VAPOR WITH HEATING BY SHOCK-WAVES AND COOLING IN SUPERSONIC NOZZLES, High temperature, 30(4), 1992, pp. 611-617
A study is made of the condensation of water vapor on the channel wall
s of a shock tube in regard to its effect on the formation of the para
meters of the flow behind shock waves generated in the tube. The effec
t of condensation on flow in the nozzle is also studied. An examinatio
n is made of the effect of the absorbing condensate film on measuremen
ts of the absorption index of H2O. Experimental values are obtained fo
r the Reynold's number corresponding to the transition from a laminar
boundary layer to a turbulent boundary layer behind the incident shock
wave during flow of the water vapor in the shock tube.
